BlowUpDollz are an all girl band out of Stanford, CA. They are a four piece rock band consisting of F’isty Pyxx (Guitar/Vocals), Taxi Teaze (Bass/Backup Vocals), Razz Taztic (Electric Violin, Vocals), and Heddy Vodd (Drums). Together, they make BlowUpDollz, a highly energetic band out to make each show an experience no crowd could forget. The Dollz have played everything from the small intimate venues to headlining the Whisky A GoGo on Sunset Strip to playing at MTV’s 2008 VMA Pre Party and yet they still play each show like it’s their last.
BlowUpDollz redefine the “girl band” image. Each member brings a unique and catching element to the stage, while their style and charisma mesh perfectly as a whole. F’isty works her flying V guitar as she drops to her knees and tosses her head back while ripping into a riff. Razz tears through her distorted violin solos as she leans into the crowds up-reaching arms. Taxi tantalizes in her miniskirt and puckered lips as she rocks her bass. Meanwhile Heddy flies through her drum fills so fast her sticks become merely blur. The BlowUpDollz energetic sound and melodies prove this band’s potential for super stardom as audiences leave the venue with both songs and wild antics burned into their memories.
From the beginning the Dollz have shocked their fans, and they don’t take no for an answer. Whether it’s playing from on top of the bar, climbing onto someone in the audience’s shoulders, or making out with each other on stage, the girls do what they want, when they want, how they want. They continue to build a collection of signature stage antics that include Taxi’s full back arch with her head to the floor while playing, F’isty’s drop to the knees guitar solos, and Razz’s jumping into the crowd to personally serenade her fans. One of the most popular show traditions is the Taxi chug off. During every show, Taxi challenges an audience member to chug a beer against her. She remains undefeated.
Before the girls even go on stage they are met with the sound of their name being chanted. Once the show begins they find themselves in front of screaming fans, never sure of what the girls will do next. Their showmanship, energy, and excitement have so far proven to be unmatchable in packed venues.
After watching their heads bang, bodies jump, and hair fly, these girls are addictive! In the short time they’ve been together they’ve developed a loyal fan base called Bombz. It’s common to see the Dollz heading out with the Bombz after performing to thank them for coming, and to continue the never ending party. At one post-show party, after wreaking havoc in the hotel room, pool, and parking lot, they were disturbed by a loud banging on their hotel door. Standing there was a stern face security guard… holding a bottle of Jack Daniels and asking to join the party! The Dollz left the next morning with two shiny new pairs of handcuffs. And the security guard, one can only assume, left happy.
The Dollz command attention on and off the stage. The girls are pure energy, their presence is unmistakable and irreplacable. You never know what BlowUpDollz will do next, all you know is that it won’t be like anything you’ve seen before.
